Georgetown Announces the Signing of Toni Marie Hudson

COLLEGE COMMITMENTS FOR 2006

Washington, D.C. (February 14, 2006) - Georgetown University women's soccer Head Coach Dave Nolan announced today the signing of three recruits to the class of 2010. Forward Toni Marie Hudson (Coral Springs, Fla./Stoneham Douglas), midfielder Rachel Shone (Westchester, Pa./Archmere Academy), and defender/midfielder Erika Roberts (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) have signed National-Letters-of-Intent and will play for the Hoyas starting in the fall of 2006.

"This class will help replace a small graduating class from last year," said Nolan. "Each of them has the ability to contribute right away and we are happy to add them to an already strong squad."

Hudson is a starting forward for the nationally ranked Florida Renegade, a member of the Florida Olympic Development Program and the Region III team. She has been a member of the U.S. National Pool and while playing for Stoneman Douglas High School, she was a three-time All-State first team selection. Hudson was named Sun-Sentinel Player of the Year in 2004.

"Toni is a fast, dynamic forward with good feet and a flair for making things happen inside and around the box," said Nolan. "She has scored goals at every level and I expect her to come into the program and challenge all our forwards immediately. I am really excited to see how she contributes to our team."
