Alexander Allende Signs NLI with
UNCP Men’s Soccer Team
Pembroke, NC (March 20, 2006) -– UNC Pembroke men’s soccer coach Mike
Schaeffer (pictured) announced that Alexander Allende of Lake Region
High School in Eagle Lake, FL, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to
play soccer for the Braves.
“Alex is a skillful player with good speed,” Schaeffer stated. “He plays
a simple style rather than being flashy and is able to play with more
physical players even though he is only 5’9”. I see him competing for
playing time immediately with a quick transition to the college game.”
Allende, who will major in business as a freshman in the fall of 2006,
was an All-State selection twice and was a three-time All-County player.
He was also voted team captain during his junior and senior, while also
being named Lake Region High’s Most Valuable Player as a senior.
As a member of the Lakeland Lazers Soccer Club, Allende, whose
brother-in-law played baseball at the University of Central Florida, was
picked by his teammates as the club’s team captain.
Allende joins Davis Stephenson as members of the Braves’ 2006 recruiting
class.
