ROMARIO, DIEGO WALSH AND STEPHANE GUILLAUME AWAITING VISA SEALS ON PASSPORTS AND WILL NOT PLAY IN OPENER THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006

Romario, Diego Walsh and Stephane Guillaume will not be present at the regular season opening match this Sunday, April 23 vs. Montreal Impact due to the fact that the US consulates in Brazil (for Romario and Diego Walsh) and Haiti (for Stephane Guillaume) did not seal their visas this week.

Romario, Walsh and Guillaume are now scheduled to arrive in Miami next week and resume practicing with the team immediately ahead of the second regular season match against perennial USL favorite, Rochester Raging Rhinos on Friday, May 5 at 7:30PM at Tropical Park Stadium.

ROMARIO NEARLY FULL STRENGTH

Romario is nearly fully recovered from the calf injury he suffered at practice last Friday, April 14. Dr. Jan Pieter Hommen of the Orthopaedic Institute at Mercy Hospital, who will be serving as the day of game physician this Sunday, assessed Romario’s injury shortly after it occurred and catalogued it as a first degree muscle strain that usually requires 1 – 2 weeks recovery time. Romario has already started light workouts this week in Brazil and will begin preparing for the May 5 match next week.
