SoccerFLA.com Announces the All-Florida Women's Team
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (December 2, 2006) - SoccerFLA.com
announces the All-Florida Women's Team for the 2006 season. The honors
go to the top collegiate players in the state. For the second
consecutive year, FSU placed the most players on the team. Six Seminoles
get the honor. The Gators had three make the team, FAU and UM
contributed one player each.
The Player of the Year honors
again go to FSU's India Trotter. Trotter had 8
goals and 3 assists on the season and was the leader and most dynamic
player on this team that made it all the way to the College Cup before
being knocked out by Notre Dame. Trotter is a Fort Lauderdale native and played high
school at St. Thomas and club soccer with Team Boca.
The Freshman of the Year is Florida's Lauren Hyde. Hyde, a defender, led
the Gators with 1,987 minutes played. She was
also
named SEC first team. Hyde is from Carmel, Indiana and played club for
the Carmel Cyclones.
The team has five returning
players, all Seminoles. India Trotter, Kelly Rowland, Mami Yamaguchi,
Sel Kuralay and Ali Mims.
