Tampa Twins Named to '93 Girls
National Pool
July 21, 2007
Fourteen year old twins, Shelby and Sydney Payne received word late last
night that they have both been named to the ’93 Girls US Soccer Youth
National Pool. Shelby and Sydney just returned home from the Olympic
Development Program (ODP) Regional III Camp in Alabama when they
received word that they would be packing up and heading to California
for an exciting week of competition and training.
Shelby and Sydney are members of RSL Florida’s U-17 Girls team coached
by Jason Streets and Ben Strawbridge. They relocated to Florida from
Colorado eighteen months ago and became immediate impact players for RSL
Florida. The last few weeks and months of soccer have been both
rewarding and exciting as the Payne sisters have played for the FYSA
state championship, were appointed to Florida’s Olympic Development
Program, made it to ODP regional camp and now, the ’93 National Pool.
The Youth National Team will be chosen from the Youth National Pool
during November camps.
Also attending ODP Regional Camp was RSL Florida boys U-16 team member
T.J. Roehn. According to Adrian Bush, General Manager of RSL Florida,
T.J. performed very well at Region III camp and benefited tremendously
from the experience.
