8/6/07
After a successful Score at the Shore tournament, the U-14 Girls team
were back this weekend playing 3 games in the Tampa area for the
Y-League.
On Saturday in the first game Kendall dispatched Flames FC 7 : 0, the
greatest output of offense by Kendall this season. On the same day
Kendall played HCU and beat them 4 : 1 on a very hot and muggy
afternoon. The offense once again found their rhythm and the defense
shut down the HCU offense, allowing only 1 goal.
On Sunday Kendall met up with RSL Florida, both teams play the same
style of football, a quick game with lots of touches of the ball. The
first half ended with Kendall ahead 1 : 0, in the second half Kendall
applying high pressure play and scored a second goal half way into the
second have, while the defense did not allow the RSL any room to
maneuver shuttting them down, the final score was Kendall 2 RSL 0.
Finishing the weekend with 3 wins, taking them one step closer to the
Super Y league National Finals.
Kendall was without Jasmine Patterson who is in California at the
National ID camp, the scoring was done by 5 different players Scarlet
Montoya 3, Jessica Clark 3, Nicky Zamora 3, Barbara Murillo 2, and Laura
Piedrahita 2.
While the mid-fielders controlled the pace and kept the forwards busy,
with Cerene Arsenault, Alixandra Fiore, Helenna Hercigonja, and Roxana
Pit-Romero. And the defense clamped down on the oppositions offense
allowing a single goal this weekend, with Dasha Munoz, Alexia Clark,
Heather Williams and captain Katrina Seidenthal, not to be left out,
outstanding jobs by keepers Kelley Struyf and Vannesa Angel.
