Three Bulls Named to the PDL
All-Conference Team; Taylor U19 POY Finalist
TAMPA, Fla. (August 8, 2007) – The United Soccer League has honored
three University of South Florida men’s soccer players with the release
of its list of Premier Development League All-Conference Teams. Forward
Tony Taylor has also been named a finalist for the Under-19 Player of
the Year award. The selections were the result of votes cast by the
teams’ coaches and general managers.
Along with Taylor, forward Zak Boggs and keeper Diego Restrepo also
garnered recognition among the 44 total members selected to the PDL
All-Conference teams.
All three competed in the league’s Southern Conference, with Restrepo
and Boggs teamed together on the Bradenton Academics and Taylor on the
front line for the Central Florida Kraze.
Taylor, one of three finalists for the PDL U19 Player of the Year,
recorded 10 goals and five assists in only seven games in his first
season with the Kraze. He finished in the top-10 of total points scored
with 25.
Boggs tallied 28 points in 13 games played for the Academics, scoring 11
goals. He ranks in the top-10 in all three major offensive categories in
the league – 28 points scored (8th), 11 goals (T-9th) and six assists
(T-8th).
Restrepo has posted five shutouts in 11 games for the Academics and is
tied for sixth-most in the league.
The winner of the U19 Player of the Year award will be announced Thurs.,
