Coconut Creek Prowlers Soccer Club and East Broward United Soccer Club is now South Florida Elite Futbol Club, Inc.

The merger was spearheaded by two of the regions top trainers, Jorge "Pitu" Alvarez and Charles Freitas.

8/11/2007

Coconut Creek and East Broward have merged. The clubs desire to build an elite soccer club that dominates on the local and national levels.  "Over the years, Charlie and I have developed and trained some of the best young talent in South Florida," says Pitu.  "The problem is that the top talent is spread among many clubs in the area.  These clubs are competitive locally, but not very successful nationally."

Freitas agrees.   "The time has come for the clubs in South Florida to consolidate the area's talent, and to establish a youth soccer program that is nationally recognized.  Other local clubs have attempted alliances,  The merger between Coconut Creek and East Broward, however, is the first real effort to consolidate the region's talent into one club.  We are excited about Broward Prowlers' future."
In its brief history, the merged club is carrying on East Broward's and Coconut Creek's winning traditions, and is already making its name.   Last season, Coconut Creek won local and national tounaments, and three (3) division titles.  East Broward was equally successful on the local and national levels, winning at the recent President's Cup and in Atlanta.  The combined club has won two (2) local tournaments and one (1) national tournament since April.  The Club's U-13 team, playing with Sunrise, is also tied for first in the Super Y League.

The Coaches
South Florida Elite's coaches are:  Pitu & Charles (Directors of Coaching); Rodolfo Enrique Rodriguez; Luis Huertes; Christian Block; Mauricio Contreras; and Curtis Bucknor.

South Florida Elite has an impressive coaching history, immediately.  Our team of highly regarded professional trainers have coached top-level soccer for a combined seventy-nine years, with the Directors of Coaching, Charles and Pitu, accounting for 20 of the 79 years.  Our coaches have also coached and played professionally and semi-professionally in Europe, South America, and the United States, which provides South Florida Elite with a uniquely diverse base from which to develop and implement training techniques that are distinct to our Club, and second to none.  Our coaches have the proven knowledge to help our players prepare psychologically and emotionally for the increased level of competition as they grow and become better recognized.  These techniques, in addition to exceptional skills training, gives the Club a competitive advantage.

Our coaches focus on the skill sets of the individual players, arming them with the technical skills (e.g., passing, shooting, defense, etc.) to manage and control the game under different scenarios.  Our girls and boys will continue to learn the strategic components of the game, putting them in a position to out-think, and therefore out-perform, opponents.  Player strengths will be fortified and weaknesses will be improved.

Other Benefits of the Merger
Other benefits of the merger will include:

1.  Player Development:
The merger will bring together two successful Clubs who share the same mission and philosophy.  This will provide a stronger base for individual player development and training.  South Florida Elite FC will be deeper in talent, which means practices will be more competitive, and will lead to more rapid development of players.

2.  Depth:
Instantaneously and dramatically increasing the Club's depth and rich talent pool.  South Florida Elite FC will have teams in age groups from U-8s to U-12s, and four (4) premier teams from U-13 to U-16.

3.  Confidential Individual Player Evaluations:  Our coaches will endeavor to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each individual player, and to provide a confidential player evaluation.  Strengths will be further improved.  Weaknesses will be targeted with specific, individualized drills and workout programs designed to improve specific areas of a player's game.

4.  Separate Workout Programs:  Our coaches recognize and appreciate the different levels of player/parental commitment to soccer outside of South Florida Elite FC.  For the players who wish to workout, outside of normal practices, our coaches will design workout programs.  The programs will take into account the respective players' scholastic and other commitments.  This is voluntary for each player.

5.  Extra Professional Training:  In addition to the professional caliber training provided by our coaches, South Florida Elite FC intend to invite current and/or former coaches and players from national and/or international professional soccer clubs to hold special training sessions, exclusively for members of the Club.

6.  Developing Player Profiles:  At the premier level, South Florida Elite FC will work with players to develop their profiles.  These profiles can be used to assist the players in preparing for college and professional scouts.
We are truly excited about the endless possibilities that South Florida Elite FC may offers, and look forward to a very successful long term union.
