Kendall SC Girls Super Y Teams Sweep Through First Week

6/8/08

The 2008 Super Y season for the Kendall SC Girls got of to a spectacular start as all three teams went undefeated in their first weekend of play May 30, 2008 – Jun 1, 2008. The weekend started Friday evening with the U14 team defeating newcomer to the Y League Plantation 3-0 at West Winds Park.

On Saturday the U13 team started their first Super Y season with a 2-1 decision at Weston. The U14 team continued their winning ways defeating Schulz Academy side 2-0. This was particularly impressive as the Schulz team is made up of the Renegades U14 team that just won the Florida State Cup Championship a few weeks ago.

Sunday brought more of the same as 3 games were played. First was a double header at Kendall Soccer Park against the Plantation Club. The U13 team started the day with their second win of the weekend, a 2-0 decision over Plantation. The U15 team started their defense of the Southeast Division title and semi-final finish at the 2007 North American Finals with resounding 3-0 defeat of Plantation. Sunday afternoon the U14 team went to Weston and came back home with their third win of the weekend, a 4-0 victory. The final weekend tally was 5 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties and a goal differential of 16 goals for and only 1 against.

Kendall SC has been a perennial power in the Super Y League for years on the boy’s side. With a National Semi Finalist last year and the early success this season, the girls are making the statement that they, too, can play the game.
