MIAMI KICKERS F.C.
GAME REPORT
JUNE 16, 2008

The Miami Kickers F.C. won its third game of the season on Saturday June 14th beating the Puerto Rico Capitals F.C. 2-1 in Caugas, Puerto Rico. Making the trip to the island with a small roster of only 13 players the team was the first in the Sunshine Conference of the WPSL to beat the newly formed Puerto Rican squad. Betty Ann Casey opened up the score in the 15th minute of the first half and scoring her second goal of the match in the 26th minute of the first half. Miami Kickers had control of the game throughout the first 80 minutes. The Capitals managed to score in the 87th minute by applying pressure to a fatigued Miami Kickers squad. The Kickers defense held its own with both captains Rochelle Willis and Joanna McCaughey to win the game. Coach Marc Miceli said, “My team played a hell of a game. From my defense to my midfielder’s to my forwards, we gave it all we had. A good majority of my team were unable to travel to Puerto Rico due to prior commitments. However, I was confident that my group of girls was up to the task. We had several chances to put the game away form reach of the Capitals, but we were unable to capitalize from our opportunities. The Capitals put up a great fight, but we managed the well-deserved 3 points. The Miami Kickers F.C. wants to thank Mr. Luis Murphy, president of the Capitals for his gracious hospitality in Puerto Rico.”

Currently in third place in its division with 3 wins and 3 losses, the team plays again next Friday, June 20th in Orlando vs. the Orlando Falcons and at home on Saturday, June 21st at 7:00pm vs. the Thomasville Dragons, both teams they have beaten earlier in the season. Then it’s home again for matches on June 27th and July 3rd, finishing the regular season away with games on July 5th and 12th.
