Goodson Winner of Elite 11 Award

TAMPA, Fla. – University of South Florida incoming freshman Chantelle Goodson was one of 11 receptients of the annual Orlando Sharks 2007-08 Elite 11 Pro Prospects award.

“We are very proud of Chantelle and excited about her future here at USF,” said head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. “She has been working really hard both on and off the field and is very worthy of this great recognition.”

For the second consecutive year, Orlando’s professional soccer team has recognized the top 11 female soccer players from Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Brevard and Volusia counties.

Candidates for the award were selected through an integrated review process by the Sharks staff which included scouting at games and tournaments, speaking with local soccer leaders and reviewing compiled statistics for the most current high school season. The award seeks to highlight local athletes who show the most promising potential to become professional soccer players.

The players and their families will be invited to attend a reception and an on-field recognition ceremony at an Orlando Sharks home game during the 2008-09 season later this year.
