We will also offer training centers for all players who participate in
November and December.
The Olympic Development Program is charged with identifying and training
the best players Florida has to offer between the birth years 1992-1996.
It is an elite program designed to identify the elite players. To that
end a player may be identified through two areas: trials and scouting.
US Soccer has a scouting system to identify players outside of our
program and place them into our program at the appropriate level of our
trial process. Our FYSA staff also was involved in the scouting process
and we will continue to expand our program. There was a great amount of
cooperation between our staff and US Soccer in identifying and
evaluating players.
This year was a very successful year in terms of players from our
Florida Youth Soccer Association State Teams. We had a record 91 players
make the Region III pool for ages 1990-1995. We also had 43 players with
pool or game with US Soccer Full National or National Youth Teams. We
have three players who participate with our program competing for spots
with the US U17 Men and Women’s National Teams (see articles below).
