Bracket Announced for SEC Soccer Tournament
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Top-seeded Florida (16-2-1, 11-0 SEC) faces No. 8
seed Alabama (9-8-2, 4-6-1 SEC) on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the opening
round of the 2008 Southeastern Conference Soccer Tournament. The 2008
SEC Soccer Tournament bracket was announced today by the league office.
The SEC Tournament is set for Nov. 5-9 at the Orange Beach SportsPlex in
Orange Beach, Ala. Florida is the defending SEC Tournament champion.
Florida earned the No. 1 seed after becoming the first team since the
league went to a regular-season round-robin format in 2004 to post an
undefeated record in SEC play. The Gators face No. 8 seed Alabama at 6
p.m. (ET) in Wednesdays opening round of the tournament.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams in the state of
Alabama this season. Florida senior Megan Kerns led UF with three goals
in the 6-1 win in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Oct. 19.
