RSL puts 8 teams in final four
RSL Florida, a youth soccer organization based in South Tampa announces
that eight of it's teams have battled their way into the State Cup
Final Four Soccer Tournament. This tournament is the Florida Youth
Soccer Association State Championship and is part of the US Youth Soccer
National Championship Series. Approximately 10,000 teams showcase their
skills against the best competition in their states, regions and the
country. Each summer, US Youth Soccer crowns a boys and a girls
National Champion in the u14 -U19 age divisions.
The Florida State Cup Tournament kicked off in late March with ten RSL
Florida teams participating. Sweet Sixteen and Quarter Final
Matches were held April 28th and 29th - and 8 of RSL Florida's ten teams
were still standing! There is not another youth soccer club in the state
of Florida that has 8 teams advancing so far in the tournament. (Weston,
Team Boca and Space Coast Storm each have three teams making it to the
Final week-end of play, the next closest number of teams advancing from
the same club.)
Moving on the Final Four week-end in the Panhandle are RSL
Florida's Girls U-13, U-14, U-16, U17 and U18 teams. Also moving on are
the Boys U-14, U-15, U18 Boys. Our U13 boys were D/Q'd prior to the
start of play on a technicality. U-15 girls and U-17 boys both lost in
the rounds of 16 and 8, respectively. RSL Florida is extremely proud of
the way our players and teams have represented us on and off the field.
The level of competition has been outstanding and our teams have risen
to the occasion time and again.
