Florida State Blanks Georgia 1-0
Seminoles win their first spring exhibition on a goal by Becky Edwards.

ATHENS, GA. – The Florida State Women’s Soccer Team returned to the
field in fine form on Saturday, February 28 notching a 1-0 win at
Georgia in their first game of the spring season.
Despite the wet playing conditions, the Seminoles managed the three,
30-minute periods well. Junior Becky Edwards made her return to the team
known, as she earned the lone goal of the game. The defender notched the
game-winning goal in the second period on an assist from freshman Casey
Short. In addition to Edwards, five other Seminoles each recorded a
shot. The Seminoles also held strong on defense as goalkeeper Kimmy Diaz
recorded four saves in her first full game in the box.
Next up for the Seminoles are home matches against UCF on Saturday,
March 21 and against Auburn on Saturday, March 28. Prior to the Auburn
match, the Soccer Complex will feature an Alumni game with past Seminole
