May 6, Miami, FL - Miami FC continues to show its commitment to soccer at all levels in South Florida. Miami FC Kendall’s U-18 team, one of Miami FC’s elite youth teams, born from the partnership with Kendall Soccer Collation, will host the US U-17 team at Tropical Park this Saturday at 3pm. This will be a preparation match for the US U-17 national team as they ramp up for the 2009 U-17 World Cup to be played in Nigeria this October - November.

“We are honored that the U-17 Men’s National Team staff chose Miami FC Kendall as only one of nine Development Academy teams that they will be playing against this season,” said Victor Pastora, Assistant Coach of Miami FC and Director of Coaches of Kendall SC. “We are part of a select group that includes the youth academies of MLS teams, New York Red Bulls, Chivas USA and Chicago Fire, and national youth soccer powerhouses, CASL Chelsea and LAFC Chelsea.”

Miami FC Kendall’s U-18 squad counts among its ranks three current members of US National team pools – Andrew Quintana, Steven Saballos, and David Sarabia – in addition to Sebastian Evers, who was recently invited to the prestigious Adidas ESP camp, and Raffaele Centofanti, a member of the Venezuelan U-17 National Team that last week scored the tying goal in a match against Chile. All the graduating high school seniors on the team are committed to college soccer programs and a couple of players have already called the attention of professional scouts.

“Our Miami FC Kendall Academy Teams are amongst the best in the nation and are important blocks of the foundation of Miami FC’s pro team, the US national teams and other teams around the world,” commented Traffic Sports and Miami FC Director of Soccer, Fernando Clavijo.

This will be a great opportunity for South Floridians to watch future World Cup stars for free and meet Miami FC’s professional team who will be in attendance.
