ZAK BOGGS JUMPS INTO COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

6/8/09

TAMPA – Zak Boggs, a member of the University of South Florida men’s soccer team, volunteered his day at Carrollwood Day School to raise awareness about the benefits of jumping rope.

“I enjoy jumping rope and working with kids,” said Boggs. “It’s a chance to give back in our community.”

Boggs spent one morning in several physical education classes to demonstrate and teach young children the benefit of jumping rope and personal awareness.

“Seeing Zak at the Carrollwood Day School was one of the coolest things I’ve seen all semester,” said Justin Miller, Assistant Athletic Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Development. “Witnessing Zak’s energy and passion as well as the look of excitement on the kids’ faces was very memorable.”

Currently Boggs is a member of the USA Jump Rope Association and of Jump Company USA World Class Jump Rope Team. The Vienna, W.Va. native was also a 2006 and 2007 USA National Jump Rope Tournament Qualifier in Speed and Power.

He was a co-captain for Jump Company USA in 2006 and has been an instructor for Jump Company USA since 2006.
