The University of South Florida men's soccer team pulled out a hard-nosed 2-1 win tonight over UCF in both schools' regular season opener tonight in front of 1,184 fans at the USF Soccer Stadium.

The Bulls (1-0-0) got goals from Fernando Gonzalez (off an assist from Javed Mohammed) in the 23rd minute, and from Zak Boggs (off assists from Hasani Sinclair and Sebastian Thuriere) in the 30th minute.

UCF (0-1-0) made things interesting when Jeff Simmons scored a goal (from Yaron Bacher and Nik Robson) with just under 15 minutes left in the game, however USF would stand firm getting its first win of the season.
