Flagler Field Complex to host
women’s soccer pro teams and Team USA U20
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. −
Flagler College and the Flagler Field Complex will host women’s soccer
exhibition matches on Mar. 19 and 23 at 7 p.m. Some of the top talent,
both nationally and internationally, will be on display.
On Mar.
19, the United States National U20 Team will take on the Atlanta Beat of
Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) at 7 p.m. and on Mar. 23 the Beat will
take on the Boston Breakers, also of the WPS, at 7 p.m. Team USA has a
roster dotted with premiere NCAA Division I talent and the pro teams
have a mix of former collegiate stars and top international players.
The WPS teams open training camp Mar. 7 and the teams’ 24-man
rosters will be set on Mar. 16. The teams will then make a final cut
down to 18 players, plus four developmental players, by Apr. 1 and the
season opens Apr. 10-11.
Admission is free for both matches.
Also, the Flagler men’s and women’s soccer teams will be hosting a
clinic for kids from 5:30-6:30 p.m. before the match on Mar. 23.
