Coach Fleck Signs Contract Extension
1/10/2011
DeLand,
Fla. – Stetson Director of Athletics Jeff Altier has announced that head
men’s soccer coach T. Logan Fleck has signed a contract extension that
will keep him at Stetson for several more years.
“We are very
positive about the success and competitive level of the program since
Logan took over”, said Altier. “We are happy to have him on board for
many years to come.”
In December Fleck completed his 4th season
as the head men’s soccer coach. Since his arrival in Deland he has led
the Hatters to a 43-22-8 (.644) record including three seasons of 10 or
more victories. He led the team to an Atlantic Sun Conference
Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and a conference
championship runner up finish in 2010.
On Fleck’s watch 15
Hatter players have earned A-Sun All-Conference honors including Robert
Hodge who was the league’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and
Fredrik Brustad who was named the overall Player of the Year in 2010.
Also in the past four years seven times his players have earned National
Soccer Coaches Association of America All-South Region awards, including
three this past season.
Fleck has been a collegiate head soccer
coach for 24 seasons. He is one of few with 100 or more victories as a
women’s head coach, as well as a men’s head coach. He will go into next
season with a 100-53-12 (.624) record on the men’s side. He earned his
100th win with Stetson’s 1-0 win over Jacksonville in the 2010 A-Sun
semifinals.
“I am impressed with the direction President Libby
and Jeff Altier are taking the university and the athletics department”,
said Fleck. “We are all looking to take this program to an even higher
level. Stetson has a great blend of athletics and education. I am proud
to represent this university now and in the future.”
