Sunrise Girls Conclude Successful FLUGSA Season
Sunrise, Florida (February 25, 2006) - All three Sunrise girls teams have now
wrapped up the 2005-2006 FLUGSA season.
It was the inaugural year for the u9s and the u10s. Both teams were successful
by all counts. Our primary objective was to see the girls improve in terms of
skill and knowledge of the game. While the process is never ending, we did
accomplish our first year goals. The teams also did well on the field. While
FLUGSA does not publish standings at the u9 and u10 level, both teams were
successful in terms of win and losses. The u9s concluded the season with a 7-1-2
record. The 9s have a lifetime record of 22-5-3. The u10s finished with a 6-2-0
record. The 10s have a lifetime mark of 11-6-1.
The u13s also had a good year. They finished the regular season with a record of
9-2-2. In the playoffs, they were in the final four and lost to the eventual
champion, Kendall, on penalty kicks after the game remained tied after two
overtime periods.
