Sunrise continues fast start in FLUGSA

U12s win three on the weekend

The Sunrise girls' teams continued their mastery of FLUGSA as the teams went a combined 4-0 on the weekend. The u14s won their game and the u12s won all three of their games. The Sunrise girls now have an overall record in FLUGSA of 8-1-1 and three of the four teams are undefeated.

The 93/94 (u14s) played their fourth game of the season against Wellington and it ended with another win for Sunrise. The game was tied at halftime 1-1 with Emily scoring a nice goal. In the second half, Nina scored on a header. Then Tatiana Penagus fired a shot from way outside that went into the left corner of net, leaving the Wellington goalie stunned. Sunrise played without four of their players. The u14s are now 3-1-0 and play the Renegades on December 1.

The big story of the weekend was the 95/96 (u12) team. The girls went on a tear winning three games in a row. The girls defeated Boca United Black on Friday night, 5-2, five different girls scored in this game. On Saturday, the team shutout the Renegades 2-0 and on Sunday, Sunrise defeated the Plantation Eagles 3-0. The girls scored 10 goals and allowed only two on the weekend. The u12s are now 3-0-1 in their division and are playing some great soccer, and getting better by the day.

The 96/97 (u11) team had a friendly challenge match on Thursday night against the Hollywood u11 boys team. The girls won 4-2.

The 98/99 (u9) match against the Renegades was postponed. The Renegades had the field double booked.
