Sunrise Girls' put together another perfect weekend, the u13 boys split games

February 3, 2008 - The Sunrise girls' teams put together another perfect weekend going 4-0. The teams have not lost a game in 2008 and now have an overall record in 2008 of 17-0-1.

The u12 girls finished the FLUGSA season with a 5-1 win over the Renegades. The team finished in first place with an overall record of 11-1-2. The u12s closed out the year by winning five games in a row. This team has improved a lot since the beginning of the season. In terms of wins and losses, the team had a tough time in the Palm Beach league in the fall but all of their hard work has begun to pay off.

The u11 girls won their eleventh straight game by defeating Wellington 3-2. It was a very good game for both teams. One of the referees remarked after the game  that he got to see "some real futbol today." Both teams had their moments and it was a good game to watch as these teams have nice passing games. The Sting finished the FLUGSA season with a 7-1-1 mark.

The u9 girls won two times over the weekend, a 5-0 win versus the Renegades and a 6-3 victory against Team Boca. This team has also improved a lot. The entire team came straight from the recreational leagues and the girls are having fun and getting better. The team had a 9-1 record for the FLUGSA season.

The u14s closed out their FLUGSA season two weeks ago, finishing with an 8-2-4 mark, ending up in third place.

Overall, the four girls teams that played in FLUGSA had a combined record of 33-5-6. Both the u12s and the u14s now move on to the FLUGSA playoffs (FLUGSA does not have playoffs in the u11 and u9 ages). This marks the second year in a row where every Sunrise playoff eligible team made it. Last year, all three Sunrise teams advanced to the playoffs.

The U-13 boys played two action-packed games this weekend.  On February 2, they executed a 4-1 comfortable win over Doral Milan.  On February 3, in a closely-contested game, with Kendall Soccer Blue scoring first, Sunrise fought to even the score and succeeded right after half-time.  However, truly at the last minute, Kendall emerged the victors with a final 2-1 win over Sunrise.  The U-13 boys go into their final game next week with a 9-3-1 record.
