About

The Sunrise Soccer Club is a City program run by the City of Sunrise. This site is not affiliated with the City. The City does not have a website for the soccer program so this site is maintained by coaches and parents of the City teams to keep our players, parents and other interested parties informed about Sunrise soccer.

Sunrise is a small club that concentrates on hard work, superior skills, and smart play in a friendly, but competitive environment. Our focus is on developing players that love the game. This philosophy has been instrumental in consistently producing successful results, both at the individual and the team level. In addition, our retention of players year after year has been very high. The kids on our teams do not hop around from club to club, but come back year after year. 

The best way to judge our club is to watch our teams practice or play and notice the high level of skill and the enthusiasm that they display whenever they take the field.

GIRLS

The girls teams compete in the FLUGSA league. For the 2006-2007 season we sent more teams to the championship games than any other club and every one of our teams that played in age groups for which FLUGSA has playoffs made it to the championship.

Our "senior" girls team is the rising u15 Sunrise Premier (92/93). In recent weeks, the team won the National Cup Region C Championship, the FLUGSA Premier division championship, the Vulcan Cup and the Gator Showcase. The team made it to the Elite Eight in State Cup for the second year in a row.

We also have another rising u15 girls team that we call the Select team. This team was formed in August of 2006. In their first year together, the girls won the Region A Cup championship (division II), finished in first place in the FLUGSA regular season (division II), and made it to the championship game in the FLUGSA playoffs. The team also won the Plantation Thanksgiving classic (division II).

We have two younger teams that have now been together for two years. Both the rising u11 (96/97) and the rising u12 (95/96) girls play under the Sting name.

Our rising u11 team has won 12 of the last 13 tournaments they have entered against same age competition. The team has also played one year up three different times winning the Palm Bay Challenge in April of 2007, making it to the Region A Cup Final Four (losing in double overtime) and finishing in first place in the fall of 2006 in the Palm Beach League.

Our rising u12s are a solid team. The girls have really improved and made it to the championship game of FLUGSA (division II). The team has played in one tournament this year and finished as a finalist (in the Gator Showcase).

Most important, these teams just continue to get better and better as they learn more and develop a love for the game.

BOYS

Our rising u15 boys team made it to the State Cup championship game. They also won the Plantation Thanksgiving Classic and the Disney Memorial Shootout.

Our  rising u13 boys team just completed their first year. This team has a very dedicated coach. Almost the entire team came out of the recreational league. This is a team with lots of upside for the future. The team made it to the finals of the Region A Cup.
